West Chilt FC have returned from tour in Blackpool.
With 3 late nights sampling the variety of nightspots the seaside mecca had to offer, the tourists suffered somewhat on the pitch in their two matches, losing narrowly to the Lancashire Premier League champions on Saturday, before having gone 1-0 up courtesy of goalkeeper Andrew Barclay, (playing up front after all eleven players switched positions) contriving to also lose on Sunday afternoon as the alcohol sweats really began to take their grip on the minds and bodies!
The small matter of the football aside though, the tour was a resounding success, not least for Craig Dawson who managed to strike it lucky on both nights in the nearby casino! Amsterdam next year?

The opening West Sussex Football League fixtures have been announched. West Chilt Firsts mark their Premier Division debut away to Lancing Utd, while West Chilt Reserves kick off their Division Four North campagin away to Horsham Baptists. For all the September fixtures see the fixtures pages.

West Chilt 1st's extended their unbeaten pre-seaon run with a 5-0 win over Pulborough FC. After a slow start West Chilt began to command the game and finished the first half 2-0 up after goals from Craig Pulling and Alex Brumwell. West Chilt continued their dominance in the second half scoring a further three goals courtesy of Gary Weedon, John Tolson and an own goal.

Holbrook FC 2 - 3 West Chiltington FC
WCFC 1st's continued their unbeaten pre-season run with a 3-2 victory over the impressive and youthful Holbrook FC. The result seemed a formality after 30 mins when WCFC found themselves 3-0 up following goals from John Tolson, Scott Wolters and Tom Freeman. However, enjoying much of the possession in the second half, Holbrook pressed and eventually scored following a mix up in the centre of the WCFC defence, and again from the spot to ensure a tense final 15 minutes during which WCFC had a Ryan Ashley penalty saved by the Holbrook 'keeper following a foul on John Tolson.

West Chilt Reserves lose 4-2 away at Fittleworth. West Chilt Reserves began the game well but squandered a number of guilt edge chances. The first half ended 0-0. At half time Fittleworth brought on a number of first team players and began to control the play and the goals began to flow. West Chilt did score two goals courtesy of two converted penalties by Chris Gower and Ryan Durant.

Petworth FC 1 - 3 West Chiltington FC
WCFC played the first match of their pre-season schedule on Thursday 29th July, away versus Division One Petworth. Goal scorers were Gary Weedon and Dan Leppard in the first half, with Craig Pulling adding the third in the second half.
Having played better football in the first half than after the break following numerous second half changes, WCFC had two goals disallowed and conceded a sloppy goal following a defensive mix-up; MotM Sean Hourigan impressed in central midfield during his first outing for the club.

The 2010/2011 preparations begin this week with the players returning to pre-season training on Tuesday 13th July 2010 at 6.30pm at the Rec. Players new and old are welcome.
West Chilt Firsts will be plying their trade in the West Sussex Premier Division this season after being promoted from Division One, while the reserves will continue to fight for promotion in West Sussex Division Four North.

Tonight the West Chilt FC AGM was held at the Pavilion, Mill Road. The night saw Craig Pulling take home two awards, Players Player of the Year and Man of the Match, for the first team. For the reserves Matt Feenan won Players Player of the Year and Jon Marett won the Man of the Match award. Ryan Ashley was announced as the winner of the West Chiltington Fantasy Football League for the second year in a row. Matt Goodman won the Club Man of the Year award for his hard work on the website.
